Polygraph Tests in Germany
Our Polygraph Lie Detection and Truth Verification Section is run by qualified Polygraph Examiners with many years of experience in conducting numerous tests.
While our examiners are not private investigators, they are lie detection experts, academics and psychologists. All our Polygraph Testers are university graduates and fully qualified to high standards.
What is a Polygraph?
A polygraph is a forensic tool to determine the truthfulness of a person’s statements. The name “polygraph” means “many writings”, because the machine records many physiological activities at the same time. During a polygraph test, physiological data is collected from at least three different systems in the human body, including:
- Heart Rate: Heart rate changes indicate stress or anxiety.
- Respiration: Breathing pattern changes suggest emotional responses.
- Galvanic Skin Response (GSR): Skin conductivity changes based on emotional arousal.
Polygraph examiners use traditional polygraph machines as well as modern computerized lie detectors to get accurate results.
Why Do You Need a Polygraph Test?
There are many situations where a polygraph test can give you clarity and peace of mind. Consider the following:
- Proving Innocence If you have been falsely accused of infidelity, theft, lying or sexual harassment, a polygraph test can prove your innocence.
- Resolving Disputes In personal relationships or business matters a polygraph can be a tool to resolve conflicts or misunderstandings.
- Background Checks Employers use polygraph tests as part of a full background check for sensitive positions to ensure the integrity of potential new hires.
What to Expect During a Polygraph Test
- Pre-Test Interview: Before the actual test the examiner will do an interview to understand the context and purpose of the test. This helps the examiner to get baseline measurements for comparison during the test.
- The Testing Process: During the test you will be asked a series of questions while the polygraph records your physiological responses. The whole process takes up to 2 hours depending on the complexity of the questions and the situation.
- Post-Test Analysis: After the test the examiner will analyze the data. This includes comparing your physiological responses to the questions and interpreting any changes.
- Results and Confidentiality: You will get a report of the test results. Please note that all services are confidential and results are only shared with authorized persons.
Legal and Ethical
In Germany there is no legal regulation of polygraph tests so there are no specific legal standards for the administration. But our agency follows ethical guidelines to conduct the tests professionally and respectfully.
It is important to understand that polygraph tests can be useful but not 100% foolproof and should be seen as one part of a bigger assessment. German courts do not accept lie detector tests as proof except very few exceptions.
Prices
The price of a polygraph test in Germany depends on the complexity of the test and the location of the test. Please ask for pricing and what is included in the service.
Summary
A polygraph lie detection test can be a useful tool for many situations, personal disputes or professional inquiries. Our polygraph examiners are trained to give you accurate and confidential service.
